A Brief Introduction

The term, "Electrical" conjures up images of widely varying types among people accustomed to seeing multifarious aspects of this most benevolent of human inventions. From the ubiquitous light bulb to the most sophisticated MRI scanner, electrical engineering finds scope in assisting mankind's endeavour to reach up to ever increasing goals. Like any branch of engineering, or science for that matter, electrical engineers have their places assured in the ongoing saga of technological progress. However, budding electrical engineers often find it difficult to reach out to current practices in industry because of lack of exposure or difficulty in finding a right place to begin. This is indeed such a place. Not only beginners, but even professionals would find this site useful in brushing up their wisdom and even to suggest some improvements here and there.

This site is basically for the electrical maintenance engineer. We envisage the usual requisites of a practising engineer along with design aspects of the electrical system he is called upon to maintain in a pristine condition

You can find several articles and online calculators, database searches etc in this site. We require you to kindly signup (which is free of cost) to avail some of the sections.

The basic architecture of this site is as follows

1. Technical Links: A lot of links to useful articles on the web which we cannot reproduce here for copyright reasons are given here. You may visit those sites and have information. We will be greatly acknowledge if you can report broken links in which case we would update our lists.

2. Maintenance Fundamentals: Gives a solid scientific basis on the concept of maintenance and helps to view the all-too-familiar maintenance in a quantifiable and categorical basis. Want to know the various maintenance philosophies in practice? Have a go on this link!

3. Business Links: These are links to manufacturers, testing agencies, standard formulators, user groups, academic institutions and utility companies. Founded on our extensive search of the web, this is going to be one of the comprehensive lists you will encounter only once in a while.

4. Vendor Search: One of the very difficult tasks faced by young engineers in small to medium sized companies is vendor development. The required data don't often exist, or might be too difficult to obtain in a meaningful and reasonable time frame. Our database is comprehensive for a large chemical industry and hence is very useful to other areas also.

5. Technical Articles: You can find deeply relevant articles on various topics in industry. It can also be considered to be a tutorial on the particular aspect you are seeking. Latest trends, developments and practical experiences will be discussed here.

6. Downloads: Some useful tools and articles may be freely downloaded in this section. All software given as downloads are Freeware. No copyrighted material will be available and any attempts to software piracy will be strongly discouraged.

7. Feedback: Of course, your valuable suggestions are priceless to us. Freely comment on our layout, content, relevance, depth and forward looking attitude. We would be very grateful for every comment made.

8. General Information: There are no technical links in this page and some of our users might find this section rather localised. It is true that most of the information provided are applicable to India only! You can find information on express trains running anywhere in India and also postal and telephone codes for India. ISD codes are also provided. We often find this section very useful though non-technical, in planning our trips and making long distance calls. So, international users, please excuse, though if you plan to visit India, this might be very useful!
